Lughnasadh/Lammas is a pagan holiday celebrating the harvest and honoring the God Lugh and all Sun Deities
it is a time for the harvest this incense is a delicious blend of herbs and spices perfect for
Lughnasadh/Lammas
if you rather buy it than make it Mystic moonshines makes this recipe
Ingredients:
1 tsp frankincense powder
2 tsp sandalwood powder
1 tsp pine resin or benzoin gum
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp meadowsweet
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp orange zest or lemon zest
1/2 tsp rosemary
1 tsp dried or fresh sage
sometimes I like to add in 1 tsp of Dragons blood resin but this part is optional
you also need
5 drops rose oil
3 drops oak moss oil
3 drops Patchouli oil
Add your ingredients to your mixing bowl one at a time. Measure carefully, and if the leaves or blossoms need to be crushed, use your mortar and pestle to do so. As you blend the herbs together, slowly add the oils state your intent. You may find it helpful to charge your incense with an incantation, such as:
We're thankful this day for the gift of rebirth,
Fruits and vegetables, the bounty of earth.
For the Harvest Mother with her basket and scythe,
Abundance and fertility, and the blessings of life.
We're grateful for the gifts we carry within
And for what will become, and what has been.
A new day begins, and life circles round,
As grain is harvested from the fertile ground.
Blessings to the earth and to the gods from me,
As I will this Lammas, so it shall be.
Form it into Cone shapes or for charcoal burners or turn it into incense sticks
make sure you burn it on a fireproof container or bowl
Store your incense in a tightly sealed jar. Make sure you label it with its intent and name, as well as the date you created it. Use within three months, so that it remains charged and fresh.
Mix well. Burn during Lughnasadh/Lammas rituals.
also great for Mabon or any time to remind yourself of the harvest and its sweet spicy and relaxing
