Simple Candle Rune Spell

Candle magic is one of the simplest forms of spell casting.being traced as far back as the Palaeolithic era. It is a very powerful form of sympathetic magic. it's a method which does not require a lot of fancy ritual or expensive ceremonial artifacts. In other words, anyone with a candle can cast a spell.

 

Your candle doesn't have to be any specific size, it doesn't have to be expensive or made of any special material.  Your intention & personal power you 'charge' the candle with is what's most important (see 'Charging A Candle' from the first Candle Magic page).

Using a candle color that corresponds to the energy or spell you are trying to invoke assists the spell-maker to accurately program personal power

Carve symbols on the candle that are appropriate for the spell. For example, a heart for love, a dollar sign for a money ritual, the initials or name of the of the country or state you want to move to, a crescent moon for sleep or psychic awareness.

 Rune symbols are also good for carving into candles.

First what is your purpose ( what it is you want to accomplish? )

Carve the Rune into the Candle   anoint it with oil infused with herbs 

A money spell requires inscribing three Fehu Runes on a Candle

An employment spell would use a yellow candle inscribed with a Ken Rune, Jer Rune, and two Raido Runes. Cinnamon or sandalwood incense would be burned.

A spell for household protection requires marking beach stones with Elk Runes and placing them in a jar. The jar is hidden near the front door.

A seashore spell includes marking a symbol of your need on a beach stone, charging it, and casting it into the ocean to invoke Sea Energy. Call on Njord or Aegir and Ran, the Sea Gods. 

For Personal Strength and protection  carve 2  Thurisaz and Algiz into a  Brown candle

for Love  Carve  Wunjo , Neid and Algiz  into a pink or red candle

Study and learn about the Runes this is not a difficult Skill to learn

Practice and study is the only way you learn.  

'All Purpose White'. If you can't find an appropriate colored candle, using a white candle can be used for every positive magical purpose.

Size Doesn't Matter. I use tea candles for candle magic! I also use the 'standard' votive candle as they are easy to contain, come in many colors, and are safely burned for long periods of time.

Red:

Pink:

 Pink candles are most commonly used in rituals to promote self-love. However, they are also ideal for spells relating to weddings and emotional unions.Promotes romance, friendship; standard color for rituals to draw affections  a color of femininity, honor, service, brings friendly, lively conversation to the dinner table. The color symbolizes relaxation, love, and friendship.

Orange:

 An orange candle is used to attract specific influences or objects when casting a candle magic spell. It promotes energy.

Yellow/Gold:

Representing the element of air, yellow candles are recommended for spells which are intended to heighten visualization abilities. Yellow is also the color of intelligence, confidence, and eloquence.

Fosters understanding and attracts the powers of cosmic influences; beneficial in rituals intended to bring about fast luck or money, or in rituals needing solar energy

Green: 

Sign  Taurus

Naturally, green is the color of money and prosperity. However, this candle color can also be used in spells for fertility, healing, growth, or abundance. 

Promotes prosperity, fertility, success; stimulates rituals for good luck, money, harmony, and rejuvenation.

However Dark Green: is  Color of ambition, greed, and jealousy; counteracts these influences in a ritual.

Blue:

Primary spiritual color; for rituals to obtain wisdom, harmony, inner light, or peace; confers truth and guidance.A blue candle represents the element of water. It is used in spells to affect sleep or to awaken the psychic mind.

Purple:

Sign Sagitarius

Power, success, idealism, psychic manifestations; ideals for rituals to secure ambitions, independence, financial rewards, or to make contact with the spiritual other world; increases Neptune energy.
Purple candles enhance spiritual activities and increase your magical powers. In combination with blue candles, they can be used in healing rituals.

White:

A balance of all colors; Spiritual enlightenment, cleansing, clairvouance, healing, truth seeking; Rituals involving lunar energy' May be substituted for any color candle.

 White is the color of protection and purification. Linked with the moon, white candles contain all colors and are used for positive purposes.

Silver:

Sign Cancer

The color silver represents intuition, imagination and illusion. The traditional silver color meaning is that of moon energy. The meaning of silver is also associated with mystery, femininity and female power.
The color silver is often seen as a sophisticated color and along with gold it represents wealth and riches. Gold is warm and is associated with the sun and masculine energy whereas silver is the opposite being cool, linked with the moon and female energy.

Silver is thought to be incredibly attracting of increased intuition and inspiration and you should wear something in this color when wanting to get to the truth in situations.

Silver is an incredibly spiritual precious metal containing healing and health boosting energies.
It gives a sense of balance and helps with mental, emotional and physical releasing and cleansing.

Black:

 Black candles absorb negativity. Black is the absence of color and the representative of outer space. Black candles are often associated with evil magic, but this is not true. Black candles can be used for positive rituals such as those to absorb illness or stop bad habits.

Brown:

Earthly, balanced color; for rituals of material increase; eliminates indecisiveness; improves powers of concentration, study, telepathy; increases financial success; locates objects that have been lost. Brown candles are burned in combination with other candles when spells invoke animals. For this reason, people interested in candle magic spells and colors often keep several brown candles on hand.

Brown is connected with the Element of Earth, the direction North, the zodiac sign of Capricorn and the planet Earth. Brown is also connected to the Chariot Tarot Card.

The color Brown is used in rituals and Spells for success, creativity, wealth and prosperity.

Ideally, you want to use candles made from soy or beeswax for casting candle magic spells. This is important because these candles contain natural ingredients, helping to bring you closer to the spirit of the universe. Making the candles yourself isn't necessary, but some people do choose to go this route to further insure the purity of their candles.
